Dry Spray

Description

Granular texture normally with no gloss at all. This defect is normally limited to small areas.

Origin and Potential Causes:

  • · Incorrect viscosity.
  • · Improper choice of thinner, reducer or activator; generally, too fast for spray conditions.
  • · Spraying too fast.
  • · Air pressure too high.
  • · Spray gun too far from surface while applying.
  • · Improper spray gun setup.
     
  • Prevention Techniques:
     
  • · Follow recommendations on the Technical Data Sheet for mixing ratio and reduction, appropriate to spray conditions.
  • · Adjust spray gun settings, spray pattern, fluid feed.
  • · Use recommended air pressure.
  • Remedy:
  • Allow the paint to dry and then sand. After sanding, and depending on the magnitude of the defect, re spraying or polishing will be necessary.
