Dry Spray
Description
Granular texture normally with no gloss at all. This defect is normally limited to small areas.
Origin and Potential Causes:
- · Incorrect viscosity.
- · Improper choice of thinner, reducer or activator; generally, too fast for spray conditions.
- · Spraying too fast.
- · Air pressure too high.
- · Spray gun too far from surface while applying.
- · Improper spray gun setup.
- Prevention Techniques:
- · Follow recommendations on the Technical Data Sheet for mixing ratio and reduction, appropriate to spray conditions.
- · Adjust spray gun settings, spray pattern, fluid feed.
- · Use recommended air pressure.
- Remedy:
Allow the paint to dry and then sand. After sanding, and depending on the magnitude of the defect, re spraying or polishing will be necessary.
